Hawaiian Honeymoon | Maui | Day 10

Our original plan for this morning was to go to the top of Haleakala (Maui’s highest peak). It’s supposed to be the most stunning views higher than the clouds. However, you need to get tickets in advance and they sold out before we could get them the day they were available. Instead, we packed up our things in preparation to head home tomorrow.

We stopped at an outlet mall (Outlets of Maui) on the way back to the Maui airport to head to Oahu. We ate at Monkeypod, which was one of the few restaurants recommended by our bartender at our hotel. The food was pretty good and the pie for dessert was huge and delicious!

While we were waiting for our table at Monkeypod, we looked around the outlet mall. Jared found a phone case with Hawaii on it that he put on his phone immediately. I couldn’t help but laugh sitting across from him at lunch with his Four Winds II shirt, locally-made bracelet from our Road to Hana tour, kukui nut lei, and Hawaiian phone case. We both definitely fell in love with the island the past 12 days!

We got to the Maui airport early, so we hung out a little at the airport bar before boarding our quick flight to Oahu. The flight was over before we knew it and we were back where we started, in Oahu, for the night before our long day of travel tomorrow.

We stayed at a Best Western next to the airport and ordered Papa John’s pizza for dinner. We’re so sad we have to leave Hawaii tomorrow.
